"Children better than wealth"-Nigerian's Most fertile Mother of(44)children, celebrates children's day for her kids(photos)

 

A woman from Africa gave birth to 44 children by the age of 40. Mariam Nabatanzi, a woman from Africa, was just 13 -years -old when she gave birth to her twin babies. She is considered the most fertile woman in the world.

The woman is known as Mama Uganda among her people in Uganda, East Africa. Nabatanzi's birth-giving saga began after she was married off at the age of 12. Her parents had sold her and she became a mother just a year later.

When Nabatanzi visited doctors they told her that she had abnormally large ovaries, which caused a condition called hyperovulation. The doctors informed her that she could never use birth control pills as they would cause severe health conditions.

Additionally, it was found that Nabatanzi's fertility is hereditary. “Her case is a genetic predisposition to hyper-ovulate — releasing multiple eggs in one cycle — which significantly increases the chances of having multiple births," said Dr Charles Kiggundu, a gynaecologist at Mulago Hospital in Kamala.

Further, the woman was informed that she had to keep giving birth to reduce her fertility. At present, the woman has four sets of twins, five sets of triplets and five sets of quadruplets. There was only once she gave birth to a single child.
